Lake julian lake is huge though not necessarily very picturesque. however there are no walking trails. it is primarily a park for the boating marina and picnics. that is a shame because it would be nice to walk around the lake.. Paddle boats, jon boats and canoes are available for rental. a launch is available for private craft including fishing boats, canoes, kayaks and sailboats. aside from oars, paddles and wind, only electric motors can be used to power boats on lake julian.. Then a simple paddle along the shore and back towards the park. also at lake julian park is a small boat club, some rental kayaks, and a series of competition style ‘row’ boats – signs that folks do get some quality use from this lake. right back around the park and near the ‘ranger’s station..
Lake julian is in skyland (south asheville nc). it is not part of dupont state park. the boat rentals at lake julian are: paddle boats...rented by the 1/2 hr. @ 5$ or $8 per hr..
