If you've broken a paddle shaft and need to put it back together, looking at changing an a feather of a paddle or looking to make a pair of split / emergency paddles these are the spigots you need, your never really now what diameter you need until the paddle is in two half's but any questions please give us a call for advise.. So i done a little research online and decided the best and easiest option was to make 2 piece splits with a spring button joint. i would have prefered to use one of the new style clamps that are on most racing paddles now, but getting the correct fit would be a hassle and they cost about €50.. The problem is these days most kayaks don’t come with a paddle. my options at the surrounding sporting goods stores ranged from $50-250! walmart didn’t carry paddles, unless you count a tiny emergency paddle. so after searching in vain for a cheap paddle i decided to build one..
Hi all, i'm trying to track down a ferrule/spigot and metal button to make a split paddle. i have a 230cm nordkapp, that i'm not using, and they would be much more useful shortened and split as a back up set.. Making a breakdown paddle after borrowing a homemade two-piece breakdown from my buddy loft (for our deer creek adventure), i had the inspiration to make my own from one of my old worn-down paddles. not only did that paddle serve as an additional backup for the group, the two halves were also used to pitch my tarp, and worked extremely well.. Hey. a friend of mine got a set of splits from select paddles. problem was that they made the spiggot and shaft such a good fit the glue they had used was pushed out and so the spigot after some tough use came away..
